Question(s) for Filipino computer engineers, programmers, software developers
How would you use your time in this quarantine to prepare yourself for a future (related) career? I feel naive asking this haha. Wala na ibang mapagtanungan e
I'm an incoming third year computer engineering student (though di ganon kaganda CpE program sa amin). The way I see it, I can pursue a career that is more hardware oriented (semiconductor industries maybe?) or more software oriented (web development, mobile applications, etc.). I want to develop myself in both areas sana.
Sa software side, lagi kong nababasa na having a portfolio e.g. GitHub repo of past projects is really helpful. Totoo rin ba to sa Pinas? Almost always foreign context yung mga nababasa ko na yun e. Are there other ways para mas maging appealing for future employment, like certifications? What certs would you suggest? Sa ngayon I have a strong interest in mobile applications. I'm learning how to build native ones with Java though nakapag-build na ako before with Python and Kivy kaso medyo ekis sa performance. Would that pan out in the long run ba especially dito sa Pinas? From what I've been reading kasi mas nagfofocus ang karamihan sa web development.
Sa hardware side, wala ako masyadong alam haha. Karamihan daw ng mga CpE graduates sa uni namin e nag-end up sa software related careers like software development and web development. Pero gusto ko sana hardware oriented yung job na makuha ko in the future. Is there anything like above that would help me with that?
Thank you! I'm looking forward to your responses.

[For Hire] Game Programmer/Software Engineer for hire!
Hi!
I'm
Max, 23 years old and am a Freelance Software Engineer.
I'm here today to offer you my services as a Programmer for your Game ideas. Having been a Programmer for over 10 years (3 of which professionally) using multiple languages and Engines, I would love to create a Game with you!
I recently tend to opt for the more accessible, Open Source
Godot Engine, since it is more flexible for me, and allows me to create a multitude of companion tools for efficiency. That is not to say that I am not open to other engines, having used
GameMaker:Studio 1.4 and 2 for an extended amount of time. As for the time before freelance, I've been a Fullstack Software Engineer for a Web Development agency in Germany, but quit to do what I love most: Game Development!
Be it Action-Platformer, Puzzle or RPG, I'm more than happy to provide my services. Be it Mobile or Web, Multiplayer or Co-op, Procedurally Generated or carefully Mapped, I'll do my utmost to assist you to the best of my abilities.
Here is a very old portfolio of mine, which hasn't been updated in a couple years, which is due to most of the projects I've worked on being under NDA, so I ask for your understanding.
Here's my Twitter for some additional features I've worked on in the past.
