Hey, guys. I'm a long time PC gamer who has always been playing on hardware a few years behind the standard and I'm really looking to be able to enhance my experience by a significant margin. Let's get started.
What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
I'll be playing games like Overwatch and heavily modded minecraft. AutoCAD would also be used probably, but it's not that important to me.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
Anything goes, within reason. I'm not opposed to spending the necessary amount of money, but an over the top $3,500 build is a bit much.
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
I've got a fair amount of disposable income saved up so provided the price is right, I'd like to buy ASAP.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
I'll need a case, monitors, and OS. I've looked at some Korean monitors since saving money is of interest to me, I'm really just not sure what ones I should get. More about the monitors at the end.
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
British Columbia, Canada.
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I'm reusing my CM Storm Quickfire keyboard and my Razer Naga. They haven't bit the dust yet and I'm really happy with them.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
I'd like to OC down the line definitely.
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
I'd like to see what it would cost to include like a 512gb-1tb ssd, keeping in mind cost effectiveness.
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Go cheap on the case. Like, bare minimum budget shit. I'm planning on fabbing a custom case to suit my needs so anything that can act as a temporary placeholder that I can use as a template to base the case I'll make off of, I'm good for.
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Windows 10 pref. However, can I use my C drive from my current computer in the new build to cut costs on the OS? I'm really new to this.
I'd really like to game with 3 1440p or 1080p 144hz monitors at 60fps on the games listed at least. That's pretty much the goal, I really like the idea of having so much screen space.
Thank you in advance. This was typed up really quickly since I need to get to work. However, if I'm missing anything, I'll be happy to fill in more details when I get back home.
