Hello Reddit. I apologize for the read as this is the first time I am posting something this long on Reddit and English is not my native language. On the evening of March 11th, 2019 I received an email from EA stating that I had been banned for cheating. I will not bother with long-winded excuses: I have simply never thought of cheating in the first place.
TLDR: BFV anticheat is banning legitimate players while not doing anything to blatant cheaters.
I cannot understand the cause of the ban other than the possibility that I had triggered Fairfight through extensive kill-streaks and high round KD. I am primarily a tanker coming from War Thunder with 1000+ hours and I frequently get threats of reports after 80-1 kill ratios or not die across 3 days of GO. However, my infantry stats are only average as can been seen here:
https://battlefieldtracker.com/bfv/profile/origin/SENPAlCARRYME/overview They are open for scrutiny by all.
From what I understand Fairfight had wrongly banned many good players and tankers/pilots due to statistical outliers as in cases of :
Minidoracat kl-Spazmo SpartanHoplite oX_-oBIGBOSS-FoX.
However, since the inception of BFV there had been a severe influx of cheaters that Fairfight had been unable to put a stop to. Since launch I had encountered cheaters with Lewis guns that kill people as soon as they jump to damage modders that one shot tanks with autocannons who are still around. In fact, on the evening before I received my ban I played against a cheater that had 120,000 score in a single GO match who called down 3 V1s in a single game of FL. As of now he still sits on top of the SPM leaderboard while I, a loyal BF fan from the 1942 days got a ban.
https://battlefieldtracker.com/bfv/profile/origin/PividianDragon/gamereports This is Rockstar levels of incompetence and its really making me lose faith in DICE's efforts at running this game, especially if they want to run this as a long term "live-service" as they propose.
How do you prove you are not hacking? Tanks or planes doesn't disprove that. Yes, its very possible to go on 80-0 streaks in tanks. It was possible in BF4 and it still is now. And also, tank have different FOVs than infantry. I have been accused of walling many times throughout the installments, but remember just because I don't rotate my turret doesn't mean I don't see you. In fact, I may have been keeping tabs on you minutes ago and is just waiting for the opportunity. Also, a lot of it times its pure guesswork and experience. If I see a teammate suddenly die or people spawning out of nowhere I would be suspicious.
Here's a recordin of a random game I played on Rotterdam with a kill ratio of 76 with 200+ ping I could upload more recordings of evidence if requested. I can also play for you if you bring your computer to the NYC region.
Fairfight never does wrong bans. You must have cheated at some point! Fairfight has had a record of banning players without providing a coherent reason. Search about it on this reddit and you'll find several prominent examples like above. It most certainly isn't fail-proof, and EA being so intransparent isn't helping.
You're from the Asia-Pacific Region. I'm a little suspcious..... The cheating situation is rampant there, yes. I'm frankly ashamed by it. However, instead of dividing amongst ourselves and having witch hunts at the first opportunity how about we examine DICE's role here. Ultimately all of that is meaningless without an effective anticheat. But as of now, we do not have any information on the anti-cheat or even if its there.....
Have you used any exploits? I freely admit I have killed people via reversing before round. It's not an honorable tactic and I accept all insults you may reserve. However, should this be an illegitimate offense? The tank reversing bug, in fact had been around at launch. You could always reverse yourself up before the round begins and it is only with the recent patch that enabled vehicles to spawn right away that running people over became feasible. Even then, DICE has not patched this feature in the update last week despite many pointing out this:
Niccaman Or this AFAIK these have not resulted in a ban despite these videos reaching over 10,000 views. Does DICE value people's accounts based upon their popularity? I don't know. But in any case bugs that can be performed this easily should never be a bannable offence. These are almost never malicious and the lines between
feature and
bug become vague if you try to define them. Does C4ing vehicles into the air count as exploits? Does using the ammo depot glitch count as unfair advantages? What about gibbing entire teams with Ju88s after countdown in the launch build. That's pretty much the same as running people over if not worse as the plane completely invulnerable afterwards unlike the tank. If my ban was to be justified on this logic, then DICE should hand out collective bans for everyone that had used this feature which is a majority of the populace. Point is, gamers shouldn't be responsible for bugs that DICE had failed to address despite
explicit concerns and there is no justification for a permanent ban based upon a
design oversight.
Have you come here to brag? I am a casual player that plays a lot of other games and I don't have a storied history. I'm just a loyal fan of BF who wants
transparency on the issue of cheating. Why is it that people getting 100-1s legitimately are being banned and ignored while cheaters run rampant with blatant aimbots and wallhacks? How can DICE expect to profit off Firestorm, a battle royale meant to be
competitive when they couldn't stem the tide of cheaters and offer an explanation on the AC system (or lack thereof?)
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. Please leave your thoughts good or bad, and I'll try my best to respond.
