IW anti-cheat is stealing innocent player's money
How IW "Anti-Cheat" works
Infinity Ward has implemented the Laziest and most broken Anti-Cheat system in the history of gaming. For a company that makes so much money, they really do not care about their customers at all. If you would take some time and watch the video, you will understand. I will also include some timestamped links at the end of the post if you can't watch the entire video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfuE1mXuvjs CoD MW does NOT have any real form of anti-cheat. All they do is monitor your running applications for a blacklisted application. It doesn't matter if the application IS the real thing or not. In the video, it was demonstrated that if you renamed the
Battle.net client to CheatEngine.exe, IT WILL ban you. Keep in mind that the real CheatEngine actually hooks on to process by injection to be able to edit the memory of the programs. So even if you had the real CheatEngine running, it shouldn't just outright ban you. CheatEngine could be used for many legitimate reasons such as a game developer testing their own game for vulnerabilities and forgetting to close CheatEngine after working and wanted to play CoD during his break. Also keep in mind, CheatEngine is NOT the only one they have blacklisted. They also have a program called TMAC blacklisted as well.
A real cheater would NEVER use CheatEngine for CoD. It would be too easy to detect injections or memory modifications with any decent anti-cheat. The reason why you keep seeing hackers in high-profile Streamer games is because the real cheaters uses programs that would spoof their process name on start up so it's never the same each time you run it. IW has no way to figure out how to stop the real cheaters so they went the lazy route.
This is the equivalent of arresting every chef in the kitchens because they were holding a knife. And since a knife can be used to kill people, they must be murderers. Or everyone driving a vehicle because they can be used to run over people. A knife has a place for legitimate uses, a car has a place for legitimate uses. Programs like CheatEngine also has places for legitimate uses. And if they were competent with their anti-cheat, they wouldn't ban you for just having a program running, that COULD potentially modify the game. They would easily be able to tell if the program DID modify the game.
IW does not follow their own Policy.
This is a link to the MW policy -
https://support.activision.com/mwpolicy "Use of Unauthorized Third Party Software for Modding/Hacking
Any user who utilizes unauthorized third-party software to gain an unfair advantage, manipulate stats, and/or manipulate game data is subject to penalty. Unauthorized third-party software includes, but is not limited to, aimbots, wallhacks, trainers, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, or any other software used to deliberately modify game data on disk or in memory."
Under this policy, having a running program in the background does not violate any of these
policies. It would be quite easy for them to check if CoD memory has been altered. Having CheatEngine running in the background also doesn't equate to getting an unfair advantage, manipulating stats or game data.
Prior to 4/23 - 4/24, It would ban you outright for having any programs running that they deem illegal. Now they will only Shadow Ban you for a temporary amount of time. Normally, when you queue up for any game, it will start the match making process at <25 ms. But if you are shadow banned, it will start at <42 ms and jump up rapidly within seconds to <200 ms.
False Information Regarding Enforcement of Cheaters.
https://blog.activision.com/call-of-duty/2020-03/Cheaters-Not-Welcomed-in-Call-of-Duty-Warzone In this post, they claim to thoroughly investigate any potential cheaters before issuing permanent bans, but that was not the case. You were INSTANTLY perm banned if you had any of those blacklisted programs running. Trying to contact Activision support to appeal will only result in them telling you they can't do anything about it and only IW can. Trying to contact IW is impossible as they don't have any contact information or a way to do it.
I am pleading to IW for those who were banned before the 4/23-4/24 update and give them a way to appeal these bans. A lot of these players have paid money for the game way before WZ even came out. I am one of those players and I have unlocked Damascus a month before WZ came out and I been playing over 20 games a day. I have no other way to try and reach out. I have sent messages on Twitter, Facebook, Activision Support. Please help bring this issue to light and help those innocent players caught in the crossfire between IW and real cheaters.
